Clinical Utility

The Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory StoolOMX™ Bile Acids and Short Chain Fatty Acids Test is a stool-based metabolomic assessment that evaluates bile acids and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) associated with digestion, microbial metabolism, intestinal function, and gut microbial activity. The test measures primary and secondary bile acids together with SCFAs produced through bacterial fermentation, providing information on bile acid metabolism and microbial metabolic activity within the gastrointestinal tract.
